Marinades or sauces for chicken

Can anyone recommend a shop bought marinade or sauce for chicken, i was thinking along the lines of lime coriander and ginger but not fussed really if someone thinks it is good. the less artificial nasties the better, i am a bit put off by sauces which look too lurid. thanks in advance

Not at all along your lines but I always have a couple of M&S white wine and a couple of mushroom sauces in the cupboard for emergencies/laziness.

They're normally about £1.70 but I buy a few when they're £1 (regularly reduced for some reason)

Went to Wing Yip at the weekend and found everything you could wish for.
They have an online shop too.

brilliant thanks
the m&s ones sound worth trying (esp if reduced!) as not much practice with very spicy ones so mild ones are good thanks

I've just unpacked my shopping and found "chicken marinade". I'll let you know if it's any good!

thanks, if it is good can you let me know the brand /price so I can get some. anything under about £2.50 i would give a go - we have lots of chicken in the freezer so anything good would be great to know about

I will let you know.
Marinades require advanced planning which I'm not too good at, so it may be a little whileSmile.
I am itching to try out all my new stuff though!

This isn't shop-bought but it's so easy and store-cupboardy it's almost as easy I think?

2 dessert spoons Dijon mustard
1 tbsp red wine/sherry vinegar (or juice of a lemon)
2 tbsp spoon olive oil (basic not ex virgin)
good amount salt and pepper

(you can also add herbs eg flat leaf parsley, thyme, rosemary and garlic)

Mix it all together so it looks like a thick, v mustardy dressing then pour over chicken. Marinade for 1 - 24hrs (tastes nice after 1hr but if you can leave it for 3 or 4 it makes it even better).

Griddle/barbeque with remains of marinade still on chicken - doesn't taste mustardy/vinegary at all, just really tender and juicy with a great savoury taste.

I make it regularly, had it tonight, v easy and tasty.

My marinade was a Lee Kum Kee one.
I marinate the chopped chicken in it before a stir fry.
I's nice but wouldn't rave about it and prob wouldn't buy again.
