V quick question - DD (20m) loves all fish and we (DH and me) love smoked haddock (undyed) - do you reckon it's OK for DD or too salty?

I would be careful - perhaps cook in some milk to get rid of the salt and would really make sure all the bones were out ....

It's absolutely fine in the context of a normal diet. remove the bones - give her the tail end.

She's nearly two. It sounds fine for that age, just be careful of bones.

Thanks, you have reassured me - always poach in milk and will be extra careful re bones.

Think she will love it in fishcakes/fish pie/kedgeree - yum, looking forward to it!

How about a little bit with a poached egg? Just to introduce the taste.

My DDs love smoked mackerel too.
Make your hands stink though to go through it for bones!

Wow, how daft am I - I give her smoked mackerel and smoked salmon loads and she loves both, completely forgot about that when I was thinking about smoked haddock - duh.

Think it's because I usually give SM and SS cold and was thinking about stuff to actually cook.

Thanks for the reminder!
