Good recipe books for basic meat recipes?

Hi

I have never really eaten much meat so only really know how to cook vegetarian + fish.

DS is very fussy but very keen on meat and I would like to learn to cook it properly.

I had a look at Hugh's Meat book which is a little advanced for me, I'm looking for very general basic recipes for things like spag bol, cottage pie, roast dinners.

I'm quite a good cook and sure I could wing it but do like to have a good reference book.
TIA!

Annie Bell has good family staples and clear, easy to follow recipes.

I have the Real Meat cookbook by Frances Bissell. It's now out of print but she does have this out.
Mine has lots of roast and casseroles.

I think for things like spag bol, cottage pie I would print out from the internet or look on here (MN) see this thread-
Spag Bol - What's going wrong? from last week.

Delia's complete cookery course is fab. It explains the differents types of cut and what you can use them for plus basic recipes for roasts etc etc. I find the woman irritating on telly but thumbs up for her book!

Top Cook books the top ten comes out this weekend.
Good old Delia,hey.
Like Igglybuff, I find she really is annoying but I also find her recipes easy to follow and very good.

Hi

My mum bought me this when I left home 20 years ago.

It's a really good basics cookbook covering everything and has loads of meat recipes. I still use it as a reference now or when I'm seeking inspiration

Thank you all for the responses

Jcee, I think that's exactly what I'm looking for and I can pick one up cheaply second hand, hurrah! Thanks
