What to do with green beans?

My dad is growing green beans. I have two carrier bags of them in my fridge and he tells me he's bringing more tomorrow...

What can I do with them? I've been boiling and serving with every meal but DP and DS are starting to get sick of them.

Can I freeze them?

you can freeze them, wash and blanche them first and then freeze in portions.
a family favourite: fry lardons in a saucepan, add green beans and cook on a medium until they just start to go brown and the lardons are crispy.

I could say what NOT to do...I made a chutney one year with 'em...wasn't good.

Freezing is an ideal option! Do as Mousey says.

Lovely, thanks. Will get blanching and freezing tonight.

Thanks for lardon suggestion too, but forgot to say that we are veggie...Grin

Curried beans

maybe you can cook them in a big pan in butter (if you eat butter) until they are brown and add a little sea salt?

Definitely yes to butter! That sounds good, might give that a try tonight, thanks.

I'd second a curry, too. If you make one to your usual veg curry recipe with chickpeas or quorn and just put heaps of green beans in them.

Definately freeze the excess though, you'll thank yourself in the winter!
