Yorkshire pudding?

I don't make them very often; now I find they don't rise in my new fan oven, just bake into a flat sheet of batter.
I know there are frozen ones, but I really want to do toad-in-the-hole.
Any Yorkshire pudding experts out there?
Or fan oven experts?

get the oven very very hot. put some oil in the tray first and wait until that too is smoking hot. then pour in the batter and pop it in the over quickly.

I add an extra egg and a tiny bit of mustard powder.

The extra egg and hot fat, as suggested by gigantaur is the key. Defo.

sorry for late posting but iirc i posted on pooh's thread
imho the best yorkie recipe is nigella's from 'feast' if you can't get hold of it i'll post it or no doubt someone else will for you
i also cook my yorkies and toad in the hole in the fan oven and never a prob,i always adjust fan recipes @ -20 what the actual recipe says
but all yorkie recipes work best if the actual dish is put in on a max heat for a good 15 mins pre-batter and it has to be dripping or lard as oil doesn't hit the spot
