Is it normal for camenbert to taste like cauliflour?

DH has gone to the pub with his mate, so I just opened the camenbert I've been saving, a few cornish wafers-yummy.
But no is a bit strange and tastes like cauliflour is this normal?
I'll admit I haven't had any for years (I usually have a someset brie)
Maybe I no longer like it? or does it need some nice onion chutney?

I normally get brie too. Bought camembert a couple of weeks ago and couldn't work out why my fridge smelled like something had died in it.

It is much smellier than brie. And I noticed it definately tasted quite, erm farmy.

Will be sticking to brie now I think

It does smell stronger than brie so if you're not used to it it might indeed smell 'off'

I don't think French cheese go 'off' as such, they just gain personality

It does have a distinctive taste, but it shouldn't be like cauliflower! Can you not just pretend it's cauliflower cheese?

Not at all unusual, to my mind it always has a whiff of the cabbage family about it....................not terribly pleasant!

Absolutely normal as detailed in this week's New Scientist! Unfortunately am on my phone so can't link, but it's in the Last Word section if anyone's interested
