you really should open freeze then laid out in single rows on a baking sheet for a couple of hours so that they don't go mushy when the thaw

or you may have better things to do

Yes. If you can be bothered, freeze them first in one layer then when you put them in a bag they'll not all stick together in a big lump IYSWIM. I use them for raspberry & white chocoltae muffins. Mmmmmmmm.

you are very lucky, enjoy your frozen raspberries in the winter in porridge with walnuts and brown sugar and greek yogurt, welel that's what I do

I have a rather fabulous recipe for raspberry and strawberry trifle

btw only ever used dried fruit in my muffins .. do you just add real berries instead? is there any other difference to recipe (I assume you don't need additional liquid) can you use fresh and if you use frozen do you put them in frozen?

(If I think of anything else I'll be sure to ask )

suzywong · 23/08/2005 14:16

I think fresh fruit would alter your muffin sugar ratio, since you ask, nay, since you pester

Twiglett, I put them in frozen but fresh is fine. The recipe I use is:
14oz pl flour
6oz caster sugar
1 desersp baking powder
284ml carton buttermilk (I've never been able to find it & just use milk)
2 eggs
3oz melted butter
10oz berries
8oz chopped white chocolate.
I find that if one uses Green & Blacks chocolate it definitely enhances the whole muffin expreience
