Can I freeze home-made hummous?

I'm doing baby led weaning with 6.5 m.o. DS and he loves hummous, but the shop bought ones are too salty (as well as too expensive). I can't face making my own unless I can do it in bulk.

Please tell me I can freeze it?

I can't see why not

try it

I've frozen it before.

Think it was ok, can't really remember tbh, so either it was fine, or frozen hummous gives you amnesia.

mawbroon

I've just googled and found some sites where people have said they've done it successfully. They say that freezing tends to increase the flavours of the garlic & salt so you may need to use less of these.

I'll get the chickpeas and blender out, then!

Thanks for the replies.

can you share your recipe AD? My dd2 loves hummous also

I found some recipes (and freezing tips) here. When I've made it before, I used the recipe in Delia's Complete Cookery Course, although I didn't think it turned out that well so I'll try a different one this time. You can find tahini paste in the supermarket in the 'foods from around the world' bit (well, in Sainsbury's, at least).
