Oh no! Poor baby! I have no idea what to do so I'm just bumping.

Looks pretty nasty. It’s hard to see from the pictures but the whole tails looks in a bad way.

What is your water quality like? Many fish issues can be traced back to a water quality problem. It would be helpful to know how big your tank is and how often you do things like water changes.

99ltr tank with a small water change every other week ive got some tap safe to get all the levels to what they should be.

Goldies are really messy (total eating and shitting machines!) and tap safe won't remove things like ammonia so it's still a possibility. How much water do you usually take out? And what's your filtration like? Do you have any other fish in that tank? If so, are they healthy and active?

If you don't have a kit to test for ammonia and nitrites, I would do an immediate 50% water change just in case and step up your water changes for the future. So if you are doing 10% per week now, I'd do 20% per week. If you can test for ammonia and nitrites I would do so and see what the tests say.

I did a change last night and added tap safe all other fish seem fine but we do have a weather loach who keeps having a suck on his tail since its been bad so im trying to buy another tank to put the poorly fish in untill its better, i tested using a kit with an online app(tetra beta i think) and it told us we needed a water change and tap safe so hopefully he wont get any worse but im worried we mingt loose him.

Looks like an ulcer. A 99L is pretty small for Goldfish so you are at risk of poor water quality. Do more regular water changes, just partial ones. Ulcers are caused by bad bacteria which will only get worse with poor water quality.

Would definitely get this fish isolated in a quarantine tank asap and then you can use an antibiotic medication, ESHA 2000 is good.

Definitely quarantine the goldfish, keep the water super clean by doing daily water changes with tap safe and try the antibiotic stuff mentioned above. Hopefully he’ll be sorted in no time.

I didn’t mention the tank size previously because I didn’t want you to feel attacked but it is on the small side for a goldfish. Both that and the weather loach can reach 10” and need space to swim. Because goldfish eat and shit a lot they also need a big quantity of water to dilute all that waste! If you can’t do that, keep testing the water to keep on top of the water quality but be aware that goldfish can send water quality downwards really quickly.

Thank you for ur replys, i will look into the medication and the tanks smaller because my other tank broke so it was a quick replacment ill also keep doing water changes and adding tap safe.
