baby bristle nose plecs!! - help!

i thought i had found some eggs last night, so i put them in the baby net with my baby corys.

I just saw my male plec in his plant pot and had a look and inside he was fanning some eggs!! so i carefully picked it all up and put him inside another baby tank.

what do i do next? how long until the eggs hatch? should i take him out when they hatch? what should i feed them?

thanks!

No actual advice, but ah! The patter of tiny fins! I love bristle noses.

i am SO pleased. i could not find a male anywhere near where i live, and i was visiting family 270miles away and i saw a boy in the fish shop. So i paid a fortune for him and bought him home with me.

He has ignored my 2 females for months, and i was worried i would never have babies.... but hopefully now i will! along with my long awaited baby corys! Grin Grin

they have now hatched! but it looks as though only their tail is out...like their head is stuck in the egg sack still. they are swimming about all happy. but is that normal?

Are they still looking ok? Sounds so exciting. I would let them out to be with their parents soon as poss, if I were you. But depends on the tiny corys too. How magical! Are you breeding for retail, or just personal tanks?

i have 2 baby nets, one with baby corys and the hatched bristle nosed plecs in. i didnt think they would hatch, i just found them on bottom of tank and popped them in.
in the other baby net i have the daddy and another set of eggs, as yet unhatched.
i cant let them loose in tank until they are bigger because my other fish would eat them!

No it is just personal tanks, although i will have to rehome them when bigger!

I just leave my BN's to hatch in the main tank. The male guards them really well until they are old enough to fend for themselves so I don't really have any advice for you I'm afraid but they do tend to just poke their tails out while eating the sack thingy and that's why they are called wrigglers at that stage. I know they need a constant air flow over the eggs or they will die. That's about all I know I'm afraid. Good luck.
