Strange lumps in the tank

We have discovered some strange, cream coloured, very hard lumps stuck to several ornaments. I thought they might be snail eggs, but they never seem to do anything. I tried scrubbing them off the ornaments and they came off with difficulty, but I can't remove them from the bogwood or it would destroy it

The fish are happy and the water is fine.

Does anybody have any idea as to what they could be?

I have two zebra snails in the tank, are they the culprits?

The lumps are about the size of a pin head and they are completely smooth, no bumps or fluffiness.

I was just going to ask do you have nerite snails . Do they look sort of like sesame seeds? They won't hatch out in fresh water so you don't have to worry about being overrun, they just look messy. You could grow some java moss on the bogwood, that would cover them up.

Are they from the zebra snails then?

I'll just have to put up with them. It's a shame they won't hatch.

I know, I thought about hatching them once but it's pretty complicated, you have to start them in salt water and then gradually move them to brackish water. Or it might be the other way around...

It's a shame, I quite like the idea of stuff breeding in the tank.

I have four minnows (river ones, but bred in captivity) now and I bought another butterfly loach. The loaches scoot round the tank after each other sometimes. They're growing well. The goldfish is getting through about £40 worth of weed every six weeks!
