Gremlins. Just do as you’re told and follow the rules. All the chaos would have been avoided.

After rewatching Scream the other day, that sprang to mind! Drew Barrymore should have clearly instantly called the police after the prank calls became serious, as well as hiding in the locked bathroom rather than next to a glass door!

BasiliskStare · 07/10/2026 22:01

All the films based on books by Dan Brown. You don't need to get on a plane to Venice to know what's on the roof of the Basilica. Google it. Try using more than 2 words in your google search when you do google.

Just give the ring to the eagles and ask them to pop it into the mountain

LOTR

I always thought that 🤣

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/10/2026 22:02

Any horror film, let's not go to the dark, scary house on the hill where someone was brutally murdered.

Paw patrol dino movie. If ryder checked the weather forecast they would never have been shipwreck on dino island and never caused the world to discover it thus saving it from ecological disaster.

Jaws. Just get out of the water and stay out, okay?😂

What about Sharknado?!

heartsinvisiblefury · 07/10/2026 22:14

Mrs Doubtfire - should have lasted 0.4 seconds

LOTR

  • The Eagles are intelligent and powerful creatures, not mindless animals. It would corrupt them. Also Sauron would’ve seen them.

Alien. Stay on the ship and send the robot.

LOTR is one of my all-time favourite books; and yea there are many very good reasons why it is silly and wrong to say, but it’s still funny 😬

The vast majority of crime stories (Agatha Christie type) depend on people holding back information from the police and/or the private detective investigating a murder. Even when someone's been killed a person with crucial information will decide to blackmail a potential murderer instead of telling the authorities all they know. It never ends well!

They phone the detective to say they have important information, which they will disclose at a clifftop meeting with same detective, the next day.

Not until near the end of an old film, does the heroine realise that “Count Alucard” is Dracula spelt backwards.

Also, don't go searching for a flesh-eating ghost in the dark, but if you must, don't split up in order to cover more ground.

rhaenyraT · 07/10/2026 23:21

Jurassic park - don’t fuck around with monstrous beasts.

Stressedout150 · 07/10/2026 23:23

Home alone- never understood why the parents just didn’t ring the police and advise their child was at home, alone- and could they please go there to find Kevin?! Seems obvious

I think the eagles were only able to do the flying over the land of mordor because 100% of its normal inhabitants were out on the battlefield fighting Aragorn&co and that wouldn't have happened without all the other things happening.

Seagreened · 08/10/2026 00:10

Finding Nemo.

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 08/10/2026 00:14

The entire war genre.
There's a reason women don't watch them and it's not because they don't like action, we just don't enjoy watching men blowing things and each other up and thinking that is somehow "winning" when they leave a trail of destruction, death and emotional turmoil likely to take communities decades to get over and usually breeding contempt for the "victor" in any survivors.

WaneyEdge · 08/10/2026 00:21

Mamma Mia. “Hi, I know you all slept with my mum. One of you must be my dad. Shall we do a DNA test?”

ilovepixie · 08/10/2026 00:35

Grease, if Sandy went back to Australia!

aintnospringchicken · 08/10/2026 12:46

Any horror movie where the victim is home alone in an isolated house where they hear a noise outside. Do NOT under any circumstances go outside with a dim torch and shout”is anybody there?”It will only end badly.

Frozen. Why didn't they just explain to Anna about Elsa's powers?

Totally. Also, it would be considered emotional abuse what the parents did to Elsa and Anna. One accident and the parents separate them for years with no explanation. I sometimes imagine an AIBU thread about that situation.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 08/10/2026 17:31

So many horror films.. turn the lights on!! Dont wander around in the dark! Then you see said person/thing to avoid

Evil dead..dont read the creepy book!
