Yes, Tom Cruise can act, who knew?

This is one hugely complicated film. Once you get your head around the fact that it's a play based on a real oil magnate, and swapping in and out of his real life and the play of his life, it makes some sense.

It's a dark film which doesn't hold out much hope for the future of mankind, so don't go expecting to be cheered up by it. There is comedy in it but it's dark.

I think it will be a couple of days until I stop making connections and understanding the points and comparisons it was making. I suspect a second viewing would expose even more.

I think it's likely to feature in the future in media studies, film studies and climate studies courses. If enough people understand just how deep a film it is it might even win Cruise the Oscar he apparently craves. I think he deserves it.

I’ve always loved Tom Cruise but was a bit bored through the film. Bizarrely, the final scene made everything that had gone before make sense to me.

I don’t think it’s a particularly standout film but I can see why it will become a cult classic

I loved it, great acting, great story that I was hooked on from the start.
Most of the audience seemed to be enjoying it, the very negative reviews are a bit perplexing for me but different strokes for different folks I suppose 🤷‍♀️

I don't think you understood any of it

I got it just fine. But I think there are better ways to portray the harm being caused by corporate greed, than through the medium of a dress rehearsal for a play with the weird side stories involving Digger’s nephew and the missing daughter. And the weirdness about the cat!

Weird but, mostly, boring.
