What streaming site?

The trailer was as much as you needed to see, tbh - I've just come out and I was bored shitless. I wish I'd nipped across the square to McDonalds for half an hour since I now know I wouldn't have missed anything (I did similar years ago when I got dragged along to see the first LOTR film).

Emily Blunt was still great 😍. Colin Firth was diabolical, Colman Domingo was wasted and it should have been at least half an hour shorter, which it would have been had it been made in 1982 where it belongs. And even after two and a half hours I still don't see what the point of Jane was.

I'm going home to watch Send Help with some microwave popcorn, which I should have done in the first place.

Send Help is amazing!

The site named above hosts pirated content so it can be streamed illegally, depriving the film industry and those who work in it (the majority of whom are not paid much) of income. I may have thought the film was crap, but at least I didn't steal it.

Send Help is one of my favourites so far this year @Whatineed. I saw it for £4.99 on Youtube and snapped it up 😀

I'm going against the trend. Watched it and really enjoyed it. Reminded me of classic Spielberg stuff like Raiders etc. Massive suspension of disbelief required and many plot holes, but I was entertaining enough for me to look past that.

B9waiting · 20/06/2026 22:14

Watched it last night & thought it was dire. Far too long & boring & such a waste of Emily Blunt’s talents!

Enjoyed Send Help a few weeks ago!

placemats · 21/06/2026 17:55

I enjoyed it and Emily Blunt's performance was outstanding. I loved the various references to ET and especially Close Encounters. Glad I went to see it in the cinema.

mum2jakie · 21/06/2026 18:50

I was considering watching this bit the length of the film and poor reviews put me off.

I'd also recommend Send Help - it's out on Disney Plus.

SocksAndTheCity · 21/06/2026 21:55

I did enjoy the bit with the train, even though I know it's been done to death. It was just dull, derivative (mostly of the blokes own films!) and far, far too long.

heartsinvisiblefury · 24/06/2026 15:56

Just watched this - plot was non existent, it was way too long, I couldn’t care what happened to any of the characters, the train scene was pointless, making a replica of her house was stupid, the whole thing was utter drivel. ET woukd be turning in his grave if he saw this shit.

B9waiting · 24/06/2026 22:25

Agreed @heartsinvisiblefury

NeverDropYourMooncup · 21/07/2026 21:43

It was dire.

The special effects were better quality and more convincing in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jurassic Park, shit CGI (FFS, finding a moose, a fox, a bird and a raccoon without relying on some generic AI versions isn't exactly the hardest thing to do) the vague notions of plot just petered off into nothing, half the cast seemed to be there to fill space and the male lead seemed to spend 90% of his time calming down assorted shrieking women. Oh, and I felt more uplifted by the end of Schindler's List than with the mess that was the 'end'.

I've never slated a Spielberg movie before, but this was utter shite.

B9waiting · 21/07/2026 23:27

Well said @NeverDropYourMooncup

lifeisgoodrightnow · 31/07/2026 08:29

I love sci fi and alien films. This film was ruined by Colin Firth and a done to death storyline

rolloverbeethoven · 02/08/2026 22:09

Oh dear, as the OP said it was like an extended X Files - but not as good. Cute gimmick if you Google the title though!
