It's was way too far in before I realised what was coming and it was really graphic. I usually avoid anything like this as the images show up in nightmares for years.

Has anyone got any good tips for cleaning my brain of this horrific film or am I stuck with it?

It wasn’t real. The violence was contrived and no one suffered. That’s what I kept telling myself when I accidentally watched Hellraiser

I did look away. Then I had to blindly scrabble for the remote as the sounds effects were horrific too.

I won’t lie there were some finger in ears “LA LA LA” moments! I love horror but not a fan of gore.

This happened to me with ‘Under the Skin’ one night.

The beach scene with the baby.

Sad

I'll avoid that one then @ImDuranDuran

Hellraiser is nasty. Watched once, never again. Same with The Fly (80s version). Gross!!

And yet Evil Dead and sequels, The Thing, American Werewolf in London, I happily watch again and again. Maybe because there's some black comedy, scifi, action, romance mixed with those films. I don't know lol

Um ... why didn't you just stop?

I walked out of a theater recently when I realized what I'd accidentally gotten myself into.

As a teenager I watched horrors no problem eg Scream etc. They were obviously scary but not real to me as such. However I once watched a movie about a girl who was kidnapped, tortured and rap*ed. I'll never forget the end, he wouldn't let her use the bathroom so she wet herself. He punished her badly for it. But then he pretended to let her go...she ran for her life and then he shot her dead.. it was so disturbing that I often think of it now. Probably because this type of thing happens a lot more than it should. The end of virgin suicides also sticks in my mind a lot. To summise , the gory ones are ok for me , it's the disturbing ones I avoid!

Watch the election results, that’ll really take your mind off the film.

Omg op I watched weapons and it really freaked me out !! It was stuck in my head for days after. I don’t like anything scary supernatural/paranormal but I don’t usually mind gore, but this film really got under my skin!

I loved Weapons! But yet I can't watch vomiting scenes...there was a particularly graphic one in Your Friends and Neighbours recently.

No. Horror is pretty much all I watch. Its rare for find a decent one these days I think.

My brain can churn out some much better stuff than any horror film.

You know you do get a fair bit of warning of what type of film you're sitting down to watch. It might be worth paying more attention if it affects you that much.

Yes i haven’t seen a good one for a while. Though i’m looking forward to the new terrifier. Can i recommend veronica?

I avoid 18 films because I know the violence will be too much for me…
