Has anyone seen it? It came out today
I really liked it, love Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. They’re such great actors

Yes I went to see it this evening. I thought it was good and the cast was excellent but maybe too much changing of time lines in the first hour, I had to concentrate on her hair style to work out where we were.

I noticed the executive producer is Benedict Cumberbatch.

The film features Adam James as a chef and he has been in nearly every tv show I watch at the moment (like Dalgliesh, Day of the Jackal) and Wicked.

The child actor is 1 of 3 sisters called Hope, Faith and Grace who all act!

Loved it, might go again!

They don't make movies like that anymore. My Mum loved too.

covetingthepreciousthings · 02/01/2025 22:34

Is it similar feel to About Time?
I'm looking forward to seeing it but slightly worried I'll bawl my eyes out in the cinema Blush

No if it’s the one I’m thinking of about time is about time travel isn’t it? This one isn’t, it is sad though…. But It’s very good

I cried from about 5 minutes in and I didn’t stop. Slightly too close to home for me.

Very good film though. Think I was the only one leaving with puffy eyes. So not a given you’ll bawl!

ShadowsOfTheDays · 03/01/2025 20:56

I thought it was alright?

DD15 cried her eyes out though. She loved it.

familyissues12345 · 04/01/2025 15:39

Saw it today with friends, gorgeous film, delicate storyline but I thought it was handled beautifully.
Would like to see it again but I don't think I'd convince DH to go, so I may have to wait till it makes it to Netflix!

Whatdoido11 · 04/01/2025 19:12

I ended up watching it again, I really loved it, such an emotional film and it made me cry. And I loved the little moments. Can’t stop thinking about it and I like the non linear structure as it perfectly captures the idea of memories and seeing snapshots of their lives. But it does leave me wanting to see more though

I don’t normally like films that jump around with timelines but I liked this and thought it worked well.

I may try and watch it again alone rather than trying to stop my sobbing in the cinema!

Wanted to work out which point in time the opening sequence when she’s running and picking herbs is.

The girls are all so talented!

ffsgloria · 04/01/2025 19:26

I liked it, and similar to @ShadowsOfTheDays my teen also cried her eyes out!

Britpopbaby · 05/01/2025 21:00

I liked it too and thought Florence was particularly good.

Axelotl · 10/01/2025 11:44

Wasn't sure whether I wanted to see this film but really pleased I did - it was really good and v thought provoking.
It has stayed with me , ( keep remembering different scenes ) - I think that's the sign of a good film.

JustCuttinAboot · 10/01/2025 19:38

I thought it was interesting, but ultimately underwhelming - the ending left me flat, I’m afraid.

Yeah same. It was just...a story. It was obviously going to end the way it did, so no intrigue. The ice rink thing with her waving from the other side of the ice was stupid.

I wouldn't have gone to see it but DD wanted to. I was really there for the popcorn.

paranoidnamechanger · 11/01/2025 09:43

I thought it was as flat as a pancake and the two leads had no chemistry. I was also distracted by him looking his age - 40 - and her looking about 19.

Delatron · 11/01/2025 11:21

She does look really young. I thought she was great in this - better than him though is suspect that was also the character he was playing and he was supposed to be a bit wet? And she was the stronger one.

Delatron · 11/01/2025 11:22

I’ve just googled and she’s 29 so yes maybe a bit young for the role and him. But she was good I thought.

colouringindoors · 18/01/2025 19:02

Lovely but geez so sad 😭 I thoight thectwo leads were great but I would have liked a bit more about his character?

BillStickersIsInnocent · 18/01/2025 19:47

Just seen it, thought it was brilliant. The two leads were phenomenal and the writing and time hopping structure sublime.
I started weeping about 5 minutes in and didn’t really stop, but I wasn’t the only one for sure.

theallotmentqueen · 18/01/2025 20:00

I really liked it! I understood the criticisms of the plot feeling disjointed, but I thought that overall the film did a great job

Yes me too. Literally 5 minutes in. I thought I was gong to have to leave at one point!

It was completely underwhelming, and for me it was verging on boring but just about managed to stay this side of it.

I found Pugh's cancer extremely performative, and the buzz cut was ludicrous. If you're going to show the effects of chemo then at least get rid of all the hair rather than just do very short.

The whole masterchef thing was eyerollingly silly.

I've had ovarian cancer and if I'd known it was going to be about that I wouldn't have gone as it's a bit close to home. I wish I'd looked as glamorous throughout the whole experience, mind.

The only really good bit was its construction - I thought the way the timeline had been put together was very clever and effective.

Cinematography was very pedestrian and nothing to write home about.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/07/2025 18:54

i was hooked, did not pause this once
although it was difficult to ascertain what period we were watching initially
i thought the female character was so selfish and Andrew Garfield quite pathetic
it was a indeed thought provoking
