An American Tail. It must have been the only VHS our primary school had, so I've seen it numerous times but only ever from 50 feet across an assembly hall on a 30 inch TV on wheels Grin

Star Wars and/or The Empire Strikes Back.

Oh my God, the memories. I still listen to Somewhere Out There when I want a good old cry. Gotta be the mouse version, not the Linda Ronstadt one.

Escape to Witch Mountain

squashyhat · 25/07/2024 11:59

The Railway Children or Finian's Rainbow (I bet nobody else remembers that one!)

Nitgel · 25/07/2024 12:00

International velvet

Something Wicked This Way Comes. Haven't seen it in years - used to watch it on a borrowed video tape and I'd love to see it again!

Does anyone else find that their kids don't have the same deep love for certain films, that they did as a child?

I feel like because there is so much more access to films now, my dc don't view them in the same way. A lot of the time they don't even rewatch films.

charabang · 03/09/2024 23:58

Honey I Shrunk the Kids. I bloody love this film.

BeaLola · 04/09/2024 00:23

The original Annie with Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks

Definitely my child like this. And yes I think it's because there's just access to so many. Which we just didn't have did we

Return to Oz

They just don't make films for young children like they used to 👀

onwardandupwards · 04/09/2024 01:59

Oliver and company, the brave little toaster or the adventures of lovely lady locks!

Yes that's probably true, and it used to feel really special to watch a movie

grannyjacob · 04/09/2024 04:06

(The original) The Incredible Journey. I was 10 (60 years ago) when I saw it with my Mum, don’t know who cried the most between me and her when old Bodger appears just when you think he must be dead. The remake was rubbish.
