Dirty Dancing - why don't they just snitch on Robbie?

Watching as a middle aged woman, the angst is kind of lost on me. Why don't they tell Baby's dad it's Robbie rather than letting him think it's Jonny and his other kid is off trying to snare Robbie?
At least two direct opportunities. I'm kind of with her dad at this point.

I've always found Dirty dancing a bit "meh" as a film but that really puts a new spin on it

Personally I can never get past Johnny's high-waisted trousers. They give me Simon Cowell vibes.

Plus, when I saw it in the cinema when it came out, the projectionist skipped a reel or something, so the entire plotline about Penny going for the abortion was omitted, so when she got the infection afterwards, we were baffled with Baby's dad blaming Johnny for what appeared to be her just having a nasty fever which was nothing to do with him -- then the projectionist clearly went 'Whoops!' and we looped back to the missed bit.

The Grand Hotel in Michigan strikes me as very much this kind of resort as in DD. It is not cheap either.

I think that many, if not most, of the resorts that catered to Jewish clientele have closed, but there are still "fancy camp" (what my dad used to call them) resorts in the Eastern US. One is the High Hampton Inn in North Carolina. DH and I went there for a milestone anniversary, and we really enjoyed it.
