How can I get my 6ft, 14 year old son with a baby face into a fifteen certificated film?

Some ideas people have come up with (these are not my ideas!)-

Make my son non-binary or put him in a box wheelchair, people will not the brass-neck to question his identity.

Slip the person behind the desk a tenner.

Give him a beard?

Will anyone really be bothered asking his age?
It's a 15 not an 18. What's the movie?

Peony654 · 03/08/2023 21:56

I really don’t think they’ll check. And the first suggestion is really inappropriate

gentlemum · 03/08/2023 22:04

Maybe consider if it's worth the hassle? And what message you're teaching him. Just be prepared for him to have a fake ID in a couple of years and potentially be buying things he shouldn't as you're teaching him how to trick people into getting what he wants.

ApolloandDaphne · 03/08/2023 22:07

They probably won't look twice at him.

Mbop · 03/08/2023 22:08

Take his birth certificate or passport!

Mbop · 03/08/2023 22:09

Ignore me, I mis read your post 🤣

To prove he's under the age rating?

dementedpixie · 03/08/2023 22:10

If he's tall they probably won't even ask for ID

Tinkeytonkoldfruit · 03/08/2023 22:10

I took my baby faced no-where near 6ft 14 year old DSS to a 15 and they didn't look twice, they couldn't care less.

PissOffJeffrey · 03/08/2023 22:12

I'd tell him he'll need to catch it on download in a few weeks.

I wouldn't advocate lying.

PissOffJeffrey · 03/08/2023 22:12

Sorry. Telling lies. Not lying down 🤣.

HerMammy · 03/08/2023 22:24

Seriously? never heard of anyone being challenged. Book tickets online and just go in.

Ariela · 03/08/2023 23:16

My eldest drove us to a '15' - we had booked tickets for Peter Kay's car share film which was a 15. Unfortunately she didn't have ID, but she did have the car keys. She had a photo of her A level pass certificate, but not a birth certificate. She had a photo of herself with her car pass certificate - she could show the date of the photo & the date of the certificate which proved she was 17. But that wasn't a driving licence or passport, Vue cinemas wouldn't let us in, so we had to get a refund.

Shurleyknot · 03/08/2023 23:18

It is an under 15s accompanied and you are accompanying him so all should be fine.

Niftyswiftie · 03/08/2023 23:20

My DS has been going into 15 films since he was 12. Nobody has ever checked him.

No it isn’t.

an adult can take an under 12 into a 12A film, but the 15 and 18 certificates don’t allow this.

Shurleyknot · 03/08/2023 23:24

Hmm maybe different in the UK so. In Ireland it has a 15A rating so you can bring them in.

ichundich · 03/08/2023 23:34

Wait until he's 15.

Iknowthis1 · 03/08/2023 23:36

No one is going check.

My local cinemas do

BriocheForBreakfast · 05/08/2023 14:36

Our local cinemas check. DD is 19 but has a young face and doesn't wear makeup. She was age checked for Oppenheimer last week.
