Does anyone else find it almost impossible these days to figure out the age ratings of films?

I'm trying to figure out which films I'm happy for my 10yo to watch and keep finding conflicting info on the different platforms. For example Junior is advertised as PG13 on rotten tomatoes but then PG elsewhere. Likewise, Big is a 12 on Disney but then a PG on Amazon Prime.

Who decides these things? It was so much easier when you could just go to Blockbuster and read it off the front of the box 😅

Go to the BBFC website to find the ratings here.

https://www.bbfc.co.uk/

Common sense media is also really good to find out what parents think the ratings of films should be https://www.commonsensemedia.org/

British Board of Film Classification (BBFC)

We help children and families across the UK choose content well – whatever they watch, wherever and however they watch it.

There is no such classification as PG13 in the U.K. All U.K. broadcasters and streaming providers must by law show the BBFC classification. If you are finding different classifications of the same film on U.K. channels or services, it is because they are different edits. I imagine Amazon has cut Big to make it a PG. if you are in doubt you can check the ratings directly on the BBFC app or website.

BBFC as noblegiraffe said - if it's a recent film they will have a list like this showing exactly what may be of concern (this is from the Barbie film)
