Because the host (nt my DD) is objecting to anyone having seen the film as they will spoil hte plot (7yo's can;t keep theoir mouths shut!!!).

Obv. by not asking them they risk picking something someone has seen, but by asking them they will deffo have seen it and the one they oick they will prob have seen numerous times and know hte plot inside out IYSWIM/

Mrs. Doubtfire
Bowfinger
Daddy Day Care
Best In Show (if into dogs)
The Secret Garden (1993)
A Little Princess
The Railway Children
National Velvet (if horsey)
Dunston Checks In
The Never Ending Story
Candleshoe (Jodie Foster when she was young)
Flubber
Nutty Professor
Parent Trap

(Would say preview any film picked as different people have different standards as to what is a suitable film for a 7yr old)

SlightlyMadShrek · 02/02/2008 23:54

I thin iot would deffo be previewed.

Parents are slightly more conservative than average, but I have seen much mcu hworse.

I am incredibly conservative about films and I would be happy with anything on this thread for 7 year olds, ecxept perhaps Hairspray

hellymelly · 02/02/2008 23:58

isn't best in show a bit risque for seven year olds? very funny film but quite a bit of sex stuff no? railway children is so brilliant, like fly away home it is sad at the beginning and i always cry when Jenny agutter shouts "daddy,my daddy",but even sensitive seven year olds cope with that don't they?most films for that age group have sad bits, triumph over adversity and all that.

SlightlyMadShrek · 03/02/2008 00:00

My sensitive 6yo didn't cope with Tarzan leaving the jungle to go and live with humans because the animals would miss him

Can't remember how long Labyrinth is (and have lent it to someone), but all three of mine sat though it, and dd has concentration issues, but it definitely grabbed her attention! DS1 reckons it's about 1.5 hours.

Flicka
Fairytale; a true story

Air Buddies 2 is out on DVD soon, so new and may not have been seen by any.

iheartdusty · 03/02/2008 20:44

for how old is Freaky Friday? I didn't see the film but used to looove the book.

seeker · 04/02/2008 06:13

Just realized that Best in Show is a 12, so no good.

The Parent Trap is another favourite here.

SofiaAmes · 04/02/2008 07:15

Mary Poppins is the ONLY film that my dd (5) has made it through without crying and shrieking in fear. She still runs out of the room in the diver scene in Finding Nemo and she's seen the thing at least 2 dozen times. Even my ds (7) loves Mary Poppins.

chuzzlewit · 04/02/2008 07:56

My Dog Skip - does have a sad bit but DD adored it aged 7.
