Yeah I saw it, at baby cinema, so had my baby in my arms sleeping at the time. The ending where he was crying for his mum absolutely had me, I was sobbing buckets at the idea one day my baby would want me desperately and I would to be there.

I thought it was amazing and did a great job of showing it from the dementia patient perspective. How things seem so definite and obvious and it’s so confusing when people don’t agree, why are they so wrong?

I have just finished watching…amazing film & so emotional. Very clever in its portrayal of dementia. Anthony Hopkins was stunning.

Thanks for posting this. I've been desperate to see it. Saw the stage play a few years ago with Kenneth Cranham in the lead role. Heartbreaking play.

Thank you for the recommendation. Just watched it. Excellent film. Very powerful.

Saw it at the cinema. Thought of someone I knew who had Alzheimers. They died in December, may they rest in peace.

Beautiful acting.

Just watched it. Was absolutely not expecting it to be so bloody amazing. Loved it. Fabulous script and acting from all involved. Bit of a spoiler but was it showing abuse from the husband(s)? That for me was the most powerful moment- when we saw how vulnerable old people are to abuse and if you have dementia you can’t explain it and people won’t believe you. Like being a young child.

I’m so glad to have seen your post - I’ve been looking forward to this coming out for ages!

My mum suffered from dementia and I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch this, although people say it’s very good.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 22/01/2022 10:12

i dont think the abuse was real, i believe it was imagined - i am not sure if i could watch the film if i had lost a parent to dementia

Very touching portrayal from the sufferers point of view. The bit at the end was so sad.
My dad had dementia.

I watched this last week - incredible. I have an absolute heart of stone and no attention span usually but this gripped me from start to finish. Such good acting.
