I want a good film, not too heavy, not too soppy. I prefer arty films or independent and British films to big holywood blockbusters.

What do you recommend?

I liked:
Eternal sunshine...........
Little miss sunshine

Can't think what else, too much vino

when i saw this thread title I was going to suggest little miss sunshine..

How about The Fastest Indian (lovely road trip movie starring Antony Hopkins)

OverMyDeadStuffedTurkey · 30/11/2007 22:18

just stupidly watched 28 weeks later, and I'm all alone in the house with DS asleep upstairs, clever me!

Yes the fastest indian, I wanted to see that, so I might watch it now to get my mind of raging zombies...

Shaun Of The Dead? Might help you laugh at prospect of raging zombies rather than being worried (failing that, did the What If Zombies Happen thread ever make it into MN Classics?)

Shakespeare In Love is a lovely film if you have the remotest fondness for Shakespeare's work or elixabethan history, as well.

OverMyDeadStuffedTurkey · 30/11/2007 22:52

Thanks madamez...actually I've been sucked into reading active convos which has totally taken my mind off zombies, no time for another film tonight now! (I've also been bidding for boys tights on german ebay, with the help of a translation website, gawd the stuff I do when I'm alone for a friday eve! )

OOh and I've watched shakespear in love and loved it

Ooh I nearly watched 28 weeks later tonight

I watched Zodiac last week - that was worth watching (if you're picking these from Sky box office!)

OverMyDeadStuffedTurkey · 30/11/2007 23:02

will add zodiac to my list then, thanks!

I have just realised that I miss watching films. It's such a faff to change the digibox from telly to DVD that I rarely bother, and I used to go to the cinema a fair bit but have not been since before DS was born (he's 3). And I keep seeing posters etc for stuff I know I would probably enjoy but will not get to see for ages (SHrooms is the latest one that tempts me).

OverMyDeadStuffedTurkey · 01/12/2007 14:29

madamez welcome to my life! The biggest problem is that I see films advertised, think they look good, and then promptly forget what they are called when I actually have a chance to watch something! Hence this thread.

I'm now racking my brains to think of something for ds to watch while I do the ironing today. Any suggestions?
