Gremlins?

Ohalrightthen · 14/10/2020 20:08

Some M Night Shymalan?

ExplodingCarrots · 14/10/2020 20:15

The others

Lady in the Water is a PG but creepy enough to give some enjoyable mild scares for girls that age. It's not seen as one of M Night Shayamalan's best but I really enjoyed it. www.amazon.co.uk/Lady-Water-Bryce-Dallas-Howard/dp/B00HQGHK5E/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=lady+in+the+water&qid=1602703406&sprefix=lady+in+the&sr=8-2

Thank you for the suggestions. But if anyone else has any other recommendations, I'd appreciate it - in case they want to watch more than one.

The Hole (2009) - the was pretty scary/jumpy!

AllAboutHallowsEve · 15/10/2020 17:28

Tremors is a good horror comedy from 1990. Stars Kevin Bacon.

AllAboutHallowsEve · 15/10/2020 17:30

The Witches with Angelica Houston.

Another vote for The Others

WoobyWoo · 15/10/2020 17:32

I have an 11 year old and we are planning to watch The Haunting and The Mothman Prophecies both rates 12.

WoobyWoo · 15/10/2020 17:32

Forgot about The Others - good shout!

OohKittens · 15/10/2020 17:33

Creeped out series on netflix is good. Mine enjoyed the birds and poltergeist (8/10/13). Also the A list on netflix.

FairFriday · 15/10/2020 17:33

The woman in black?

BumBurnerBum · 15/10/2020 17:34

But...The Others is terrifying. The Hole isn't really appropriate either if it's the one about the group of teenagers that get trapped underground.

I only have a 5 year old though so may be not in the right place to answer.

Jaws?

EloiseTheFirst · 15/10/2020 17:36

I've just watched the trailer for Lady in the Water. It's proper creepy! I can't believe it's a PG!

I also saw the trailer for The Village! OMG!

Maybe we'll stick to Gremlins! 😂

Hocus pocus?

OohKittens · 15/10/2020 17:46

Look at the trailers for creeped out on netflix. It's individual episodes and really good for that age. The A list is also really good but it's a longer series.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/10/2020 17:51

The craft? Sure I saw that at about 12.

FairFriday · 15/10/2020 18:05

Does it have to be proper scary?

tinkywinkyshandbag · 15/10/2020 18:18

OMG I saw Poltergeist aged 18 and had nightmares for weeks! It's very dated now of course. I also think woman in black is way too scary for 12 year olds.

OohKittens · 15/10/2020 19:16

Mine loved poltergeist and d10 has asked for it for Christmas Confused

FairFriday · 15/10/2020 19:20

There will be at least one kid who goes home crying and have to sleep with the light on.

Just go ‘silly scary’ like ghostbusters! It’s supposed to be fun!

To be fair even though The Hole is a 12a (not the teenager one it's the 2009 one) we thought it should have been a 15. We watched it about ten years ago though so might be ok now Grin
