Poor acting

I really enjoyed it as did my 10 year old DT’s. I think there was maybe one child actor who was pretty poor, but I don’t think the others were too bad, no worse than any of the child actors in the Harry Potter films.
We had watched Lego Movie 2 a few days before, that was rubbish, we much preferred this film.

itsallabouttheponies · 25/02/2019 22:57

We saw it last week and enjoyed it, lighthearted easy to watch film that has sparked an interest in King Arthur's history now

We all loved it, thought it was a really good family film. I was very impressed with the finger clicking and wished that I could do it myself Smile

ladymalfoy · 26/02/2019 14:42

I won’t bother then. Shame. I was really excited. But I can guess the next craze that annoys teachers....

PorpentinaScamander · 26/02/2019 14:44

I loved it!

AdamNichol · 27/02/2019 14:40

DS(7) really enjoyed it. He's moving away from cartoons into more sustained narratives.
I thought it was a good take / modernisation. Kid level acting fine, nothing lesser than anything on Nickelodeon, etc.
General visual quality was good. Based on the latter half of the Once and Future King (so not the Sword in the Stone and early Arthur/Merlin bit so much).

AllAboutHallowsEve · 01/03/2019 20:50

I loved it and I'm 39! My 7 year old DD also really enjoyed it and was completely gripped throughout.

I loved young Merlin too. He's played by Celia Imrie's son.

12 and 10yr old really enjoyed it.
So did I.

And the flaming skeleton knights had me worried Blush.

MadauntofA · 03/03/2019 18:08

DDs 10 and 14 loved it as did I - an easy to watch children's film that for once wasn't American

Lindy2 · 03/03/2019 18:19

I quite liked it. It's an easy to watch family film.
There was perhaps a bit too much clicking and clapping at times but I'll let that go as I rather like Merlin and Arthur stories.

SD1978 · 03/03/2019 18:54

I missed this at the cinema and I was most miffed. Really looking forward to it coming out on Iplayer. Was about the only film I really wanted to see so far this year- I hope I'm not disappointed!

Jayneisagirlsname · 12/04/2019 18:07

My 8 and 11 year old really enjoyed it! My 8 year old found Morgana and her warriors really quite creepy. We loved young Merlin, and have all been practising the finger clicking 🤞🏻

whiskeysourpuss · 12/04/2019 18:15

I loved young Merlin too. He's played by Celia Imrie's son.

Alex was played by Andy Serkis son... DS tell everyone that he's Gollum's kid 🤣🤣

DS loved it... at 11 he's too old for cartoony movies (he's not a baby you know so no Secret Life of Pets 2 for me Sad) but still a bit young to sit through the more grown up movies so this was great for his level.

Corneliusmurphy · 12/04/2019 18:19

Personally thought it was a little bit long but very watchable and my dts 9 thought it was great. It was one of the mini morning movies well worth £2.50!
