Films like Rosemary's Baby?

PeachPlumPears · 24/10/2017 15:17

I love films like Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, Misery, Psycho, The Omen, basically scary films from the 60s/70s/80s I guess. Based on this list, can anyone recommend any similar films? Would love something to watch since it's Halloween and all!

Ooh so many to choose from! I'd heard of a few of these before but when I'm in the mood for watching something scary I can never think of anything! Will be sure to copy all these suggestions down

The Hitcher 1986 version.

It's not a horror film but a thriller and utterly terrifying.

elQuintoConyo · 25/10/2017 21:24

Tne Hitcher has Rutger Hauer?

I'd also include on a scary list any of the Japanese originals of: The Ring, The Eye, Dark Water etc. Seriously scary!

Ooo I love these type of films, especially demonic possession type of malarkey. If you like gothic type hokum (women with unfeasibily great hair fleeing gothic houses) I watched Crimson Peak this morning, bit of a ghost story, Tom Hiddlestone and Jessica Castain (which is the best gothic heroine name ever)

One of the all time classics, The Exorcist.
I’ve just been to see this in the theatre actually, and it’s really good. The movie is way scarier though.

Sleep Tight- Spanish psychological thriller, really creepy. Stayed with me for a while.

The original 80's Fright Night is good if you like a vampire theme.

Have you ever seen The house of the devil, or The eyes of my mother? They are both good.
I watched my old Halloween favourite Trick r Treat
