Roughly how old were your kids when they went to the cinema for the first time?
Did they sit through a full movie ok?

DC1 was 4.3 I was heavily pg and desperate for something to entertain her that involved me sitting down.
She was ok but decided she didn't like popcorn, fine except I'd done such a good job of saying she had to be quiet she didn't dare tell me and just stored it in her cheeks like a hamster. At the end of the film she spat it all out, there was loads in there!
DC2 was 3 but didn't sit well.
DC3 was 2 and DC4 was 18 months however I wouldn't have taken them if it hadn't been for the older kids.
I was taking the younger two to watch a film and SIL asked to come with DN who was 2.3, at that time DN wouldn't sit for 5 mins. DN got upset at how loud it was and at being told to sit still and started wailing. An usher said people were complaining about the noise and in a marvellous display of PFB SIL, rather than leaving suggested he turn the noise down as DN was sensitive.

Crikey, some young ones on here! About age 6 in this family. DS2 is 6.5 and still hasn't been although I did take him to his first pantomime just before Christmas. DD2 is 3 and I can't imagine taking her to the cinema - she'd never sit still.

"DS stood up, waved his arms around looking like an aircraft marshall, and let out a strangled 'MmmNoooooMeeep'. Because I had told him No Talking during the film"

Oh man, that must have taken a lot of self control for his little self, SheRa Grin

That's always my favourite bit of the Ice Age films though, squirrellly creature chasing after the acorn.

We're bringing 2.2 year old dd to the peppa my first cinema show in a couple of weeks. Do loves the cinema so all excitement at the thought of bringing her . Just realised have to sit through an hour of that feckin pig tho!

3 or 4 to the £2 Saturday morning kids screening. Around 7 to a proper sit down absolutely no talking or moving, full price one.

A few months ago we took our 2 girls to the cinema for the first time, to see Star Wars Rogue 1. They were 7 and 4 and they both love Star Wars. Dd2 got scared within 10 minutes and my husband took her out. I stayed with dd2 and we both loved it.
We're planning to see Beauty and the Beast when it comes out; hopefully dd2 will be able to see all of it, they both love the original Disney film.

All my kids were 3 when they first went to the cinema. They were all perfectly fine and enjoyed the films, although we did have to make trips to the toilet etc.

Aspiringcatlady · 18/03/2017 23:43

About 3 we went to see you story 3 but went to an early showing so it was mainly young kids in there!

I used to work at an odeon when I was a student. We had plenty of parents bringing 2 year olds in.
