Hey,
Just watched Armageddon and I did cry a little, so now I'm in the mood for a good weepfest. Any suggestions please?

The best of me.

It's on amazon prime.

It's crap, but I cried through the whole film.

Me before you, the adaptation of the jo moyes book

Dumbo.

MeganChips · 28/01/2017 19:34

Either About Time or Me, Earl and the Dying Girl.

I howled at both.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 29/01/2017 09:52

Go watch Lion in the cinema.

MsAmerica · 29/01/2017 23:30

Camille!

I probably cry longer during "The Passion of Joan of Arc" than in any other movie, but I realize it's not for everyone.

Oh god Armageddon. My family are 'you've seen this film a thousand times why do you still cry!'

Marley and Me

The Time Traveller's Wife

TyneTeas · 29/01/2017 23:35

I also recall being quite weepy at the start of Jersey Girl

dovesong · 29/01/2017 23:40

Marley and Me broke me into little pieces. (Slightly ashamed to admit that)

A Farewell to arms - 1932 version with Gary Cooper- it's on YouTube and surprisingly racy.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 30/01/2017 09:23

My 3 'guarantees' are oldies :

Love Story (1970) -seriously stockpile the tissues.

The Way We Were (1973) -perfect break-up movie.

It's A Wonderful Life (1946) -essential Xmas sobfest!

AutumnalLeaves38 · 30/01/2017 09:28

OP,

Just realised you posted on Saturday night...hopefully your Monday isn't as difficult as to warrant therapeutic crying later. But mine are good to keep in the memory bank for future reference Wink

Shadowlands, obviously. What my dad would have called a five-handkerchief job.

Not everyone would find this weepworthy, but A Matter of Life and Death (1946) reliably moves me and some of my ever so tough, cynical male friends to tears. I just went to check on a bit of dialogue I was going to quote (and hadn't remembered it right, so it's just as well) and it set me off again.

milkmoustache · 30/01/2017 15:35

Sophie's choice.

Thanks all. I'm sure I'll make use of your suggestions next time I'm in need of a sob fest!
