What film can you recommend for a proper good belly laugh?!!

(available on netflix is a bonus!)

OP posts:
BrexitentialCrisis · 11/06/2016 19:39

40 year old virgin
The first Hangover film. Hangovers 2 and 3 defo not.

Literally gave myself a stitch from laughing both times. Have a very low grade sense of humour though

gingerboy1912 · 11/06/2016 19:39

And I've just remembered what we did in the shadows after reading this thread.

gingerboy1912 · 11/06/2016 19:45

I also like trainspotting and Snatch they aren't comedies as such but are have a funny current running through them. I love both.

Mildred007 · 11/06/2016 22:50

Step brothers and Bridesmaids - laugh so much every time! The heat and in betweeners good too but step brothers and bridesmaids I can watch again and again and still laugh :) x

Mildred007 · 11/06/2016 22:52

Oh and definitely yes to bad grandpa!! Brilliant! Watch the making of afterwards - just as funny x

werealljustpassengerstonight · 12/06/2016 00:31

Dodgeball
Blades of glory
Hot fuzz
Anchorman
The hangover

PerspicaciaTick · 12/06/2016 01:36

I've just spent the last half hour watching clips of "What we do in the shadows" on youtube. I am going to have to try and get hold of the full film.

I have a very soft spot for Will Ferrell, so Blades of Glory, Zoolander among others and (not a film) the thing where he played President Bush doing a one man show.

AnnieOnnieMouse · 12/06/2016 02:15

Hot Fuzz
Take the Block
Not bust-a-gut funny, but I love Arsenic and Old Lace
Dogma
Have a (or It's a ) Wonderful Afterlife - that's the best film I've seen for ages

OlennasWimple · 12/06/2016 02:23

I was surprised how funny I found the Inbetweeners

Baconyum · 12/06/2016 03:23

Most of these leave me cold, rare a film makes me laugh out loud at all.

Deadpool has been the only one ever to make me laugh in the cinema from beginning to end - fabulous film!

My cousin vinny a close 2nd (need to replace my DVD of this)

Dogma 3rd - if only for jay and silent bob!

These come close ish

Dirty rotten scoundrels - just been added to netflix
Meet the parents etc
We're the millers
Shaun of the dead
Shallow grave
The bird cage (think it's on netflix)
Hangover - unusual for me not my usual film type
Liar liar - him trying not to lie is like trying not to laugh in a serious situation.
Trading places
Ferris bueller
Back to the future

Most of what's been mentioned above... Blazing Saddles I find hysterical when I've had too much to drink!! Have also seen the Hangover several times now and laughed my arse off each time 'Toodleoooo mothafuckaaaas!!!' Myself and DH randomly saw the Lord Flash Heart episode of Blackadder Goes Forth during the week - God I had forgotten how funny that programme was!!!

JellyBellyKelly · 12/06/2016 15:10

Oh god I forgot the life of Brian.
"FUCK OFF! we're the people's front of Judea!"

I am laughing out loud having just read those two lines!

"It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them."
"But you can't have babies."
"Don't you oppress me."

Bloody brilliant.

ClownsToTheLeftOfMe · 12/06/2016 15:16

I've seen the Pink Panther films loads of times and they still make me laugh and laugh. Peter Sellars crashing his van into the swimming pool...twice..brilliant. Not to mention him as the Pavlova of the Parallel Bars. Grin

HildurOdegard · 12/06/2016 15:37

Date night with Tina wotsit.

It crowd 'work outing' is funniest tv ever.

Twitter fans might like the moss-style 50 shades of nerd.

TrionicLettuce · 12/06/2016 15:39

Having just watched it last night I would also nominate Bill by the Horrible Histories guys. If you like HH/Yonderland then it'll definitely be a winner.

HildurOdegard · 12/06/2016 15:49

My dad bought my five year old "bad grandpa" for Xmas last year. That'll teach me to let him put a DVD on without me checking. Thankfully it all went over his head. What was my dad thinking?

Maybenot321 · 12/06/2016 15:59

Blades of Glory
Bridesmaids
Planes, trains & automobiles
Bad Santa

annandale · 12/06/2016 16:08

Always a lot funnier at cinemas/communal screenings, but then there's nothing worse than actually PAYING to see a really unfunny comedy.
A Shot in the Dark (second Pink Panther film) - unfortunately none of the Pink Panther films have aged well as they seem quite slow but still remember falling off a chair to this.
Blades of Glory - underestimated classic IMO just because Will Ferrell is so prolific
Some Like It Hot - probably helps that it's our family Christmas film so I'm always pissed when watching it
DH and I laughed like drains at Semi Pro
Airplane

gingerboy1912 · 12/06/2016 18:46

I had forgotten about Date Night, so funny when their car gets caught on the front of the taxis GrinGrin

gingerboy1912 · 12/06/2016 18:48

The dance scene in the Inbetweeners movie is hilarious

PetuliaGristle · 12/06/2016 21:48

Arrgh I can't believe I forgot Cuban Fury, the dance battle between Nick Frost and Chris O'Dowd, brilliant!

srslylikeomg · 12/06/2016 22:00

Little Miss Sunshine makes me cry with laughter - bittersweet and so funny

DoctorTwo · 13/06/2016 10:16

On the back of this thread I bought Bad Grandpa. Just watched the first 10 minutes and have howled with laughter 4 times. Funniest film I've seen in years. :o :o :o

DoesAnyoneReadTheseThings · 13/06/2016 10:26

Most of the ones mentioned and in bruges!
