Just watched the Good Dinosaur all the way through for the first time and I am reduced to tears.

Why do the make them so emotional.
Monsters inc
Up
Toy story
The Croods
Inside out
Any bloody kids film reduces me to a puddle of snot and tears.

Brilliant films though Grin

I don't know any parent of a pre-teen who didn't sob during Inside Out. I cry at most movies, Alvin and the Chipmunks got me this morning. Blush

FeelingSmurfy · 17/02/2016 14:35

Up is the worst, I say it should be renamed UPsetting

Homeward bound, watched a lot as a child and cried everytime, nodding along to most of the others mentioned too. When Jessie sings in toy story 2 I just want to scoop all the toys up and protect them!

KathyBeale · 17/02/2016 14:39

So pleased I'm not the only one who cries at the beginning of Lion King. If my husband wants to annoy me, he just starts singing Circle of Life!

QueenofLouisiana (love the name btw) I also cry at everything. Yes to the end of Elf, yes to Up, yes to all Toy Stories, yes to Inside Out, which I absolutely love, yes to Alvin and the Chipmunks when he has a nightmare and gets in bed with Dave...

Allice · 17/02/2016 14:40

Jessie's song in Toy Story is a killer, I well up just thinking about it and if I ever see a Jessie doll for sale its all I can do to not buy it.
Despicable Me gets me at the end too.

5minutestobed · 17/02/2016 14:43

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried at the good dinosaur, I thought I was just being pregnant and hormonal!
Also whoever said old jacks boat at Christmas, I cried at that too. There was just no need for it to be that sad!!

TheGoldenApplesOfTheSun · 17/02/2016 14:45

Inside Out had me weeping buckets! Not to mention the first 10min of Up. Broke my heart. And Toy Story. Aw, jeez, Pixar really are bastards aren't they? Maybe they like the taste of tears...

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 17/02/2016 14:49

Onemagnum - apparently when I was little, I watched some film where lots of people died (probably a Western) totally unmoved, but when a musical box was lost/broken, I lost it completely and sobbed for ages! No idea why now, of course.

I quite like that the Pixar (and Disney) film introduce sad concepts to children, but they do go a bit overboard with the parent/child separation sometimes - I still haven't watched Bambi or Dumbo since having DC, and don't intend to let DS1 watch them for some time yet either! (He takes things very much to heart).

But yes, I mostly cry at them all too. Bolt is another killer, at the end when they're in the studio - every single time, even though I know the outcome.

Sunnybitch · 17/02/2016 14:49

Just thought of two more...
casper
All dogs go to heaven Sad

SpikeWithoutASoul · 17/02/2016 14:49

Disney LOVE to kill off a parent or two, don't they? Leaves DD traumatised and me sobbing. Luckily she's recently discovered the Tinkerbell films and they don't include the merciless slaughter of a loving mum or dad. (Still weep a bit through most of them though.)

1015SaturdayNight · 17/02/2016 14:49

'Lighthearted adventure'? Hmm I just have to think about Shadow telling Chance he has to learn how to say goodbye and I tear up. And then when he comes limping over the hill, gets me every single time.

DD is going through a Toy Story phase. When Buzz realises he's a toy while he's in Sid's house crushes me. Him climbing up the banister, the realisation on his face as he's falling to the floor.. The song!

There's an awful awful film about lab puppies at Christmas - Santa paws or something like that

The basic story line is - mum dies - kids lose Christmas spirit - as a result whole town loses Christmas spirit - puppies come - cheer up kids - small child sings carol on small town radio in memory of her mother - Christmas comes back

My mother, the kids' adored grandmother bought it for them one Christmas - we watched it and as my children and I broken down in tears I sat there and looked at my mum to say WTF

Heavenscent86 · 17/02/2016 14:52

I always cry at the end of Arthur Christmas when the little girl opens her bicycle. Oh the looks on her and Arthur's faces! Confused

MewlingQuim · 17/02/2016 14:58

I cannot watch Up. A thoughtless friend brought it round for DH and I to watch shortly after I lost a baby conceived after 8years ttc. That fucking film broke me Sad

I also lose it completely during Frozen - at Let It Go and again at the bit at the end when Anna freezes. Wimp Hmm

OneMagnumisneverenough · 17/02/2016 15:01

Christmas movies seem the worst, Jack Frost, Home Alone?

SheWhoDaresGins · 17/02/2016 15:13

Cocolepew I made the monumental mistake of watching that last year. Lordy. Big gulping sobs, I was devastated. Flaming Nelly that I am Blush

Without spoiling it for anyone if they are planning on seeing it. The new Goosebumps film has a heart wrenching moment. Bloody excellent film for kids if they like a little bit scary but with lots of laughs. But good grief I blubbed still Grin

The funeral in How To Train Your Dragon 2 had me in pieces. Dd was fine, I bawled as they released the arrows.. aaargh!

SheWhoDaresGins · 17/02/2016 15:19

That's the thing though isn't it. The kids seem to be immune to it while the parents are sat behind them emotional wrecks, well I am anyway Blush

Don't you lot ever watch Bambi then!

MashesToPashes · 17/02/2016 15:27

Oldie, but goodie, The Railway children "Daddy! My Daddy!" There is never enough tissue to stem the floods.

Roobix04 · 17/02/2016 15:29

Can't believe nobody has mentioned little Sarah Crew sobbing papa over and over again in the 90's adaptation of A Little Princess. My dsis showed it to her boyfriend and he turned it off and refused to watch anymore.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 17/02/2016 15:36

DS2 and I cry at The Iron Giant. It's so sad.

I don't know why we keep watching it. Grin

Helenluvsrob · 17/02/2016 15:39

Wall E

TitClash · 17/02/2016 15:40

During Snoopy Come Home, I announced to the entire cinema that he could come and live with us, and everyone laughed at me. Blush

Libitina · 17/02/2016 15:46

Toy Story 3. Sobbed in the cinema.
Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. I'd never read the book so didn't know how it ended. Oh my days, I sobbed for Britain.

Still can't rewatch either of them. Just the thought makes me fill up. Sad

Momamum · 17/02/2016 15:47

My little cinema did a Sunday morning screening of children's films and my friend and I took the kids there....

'Bambi' was the first...

Had to administer restorative medicine, courtesy of the local pub, to her SadGrin
