Films that were over looked but are really good?

We have just watched Nim's Island and it was really good, but i don't remember seeing any hype or even noticing when it was released. It has made me wonder what other great films we might have missed from the last ten years or so, or just over looked them? Any suggestions?

Alice in Wonderland but the 1999 live action one, this is an absolute favourite in our house and is on practically every other day!! Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourites anyway but this version I just adore particularly the long list of stars (Gene Wilder, Whoopi Goldberg, Miranda Richardson) and is just different from the Disney one

Stick It, has the girl out of Rookie Blue in it and is a great film for teenage girls (I only discovered it last year)

We love the Alice in Wonderland film Harvey. Now thinking about it has got me singing...'will she, won't she join the dance'! It used to be DD's, now 18, absolute favourite film. Bought it on DVD in Poundland not so long ago to replace our long lost recorded off the TV video tape.

Excellent recent one is Bridge Of Spies with Tom Hanks. Set in the Cold War and based on a true story.

I always thought 50/50 was quite overlooked but it's a really lovely film.
And yes to Grand Hotel Budapest. Really great film.

Master and Commander. My favourite film but so many people I speak to haven't even heard of it. It seemed to just pass people by.

Untouchable - subtitled French film. It's very, very funny and even my STBEXH, who was appalled at the thought of going to see a forrin' film, loved it.

I love Arlington Road. My usual choice of film is something easy watching, often Pixar or similar. But for some reason I love that film

Well, Shawshank Redemption, didn't here anything at the time it was released.
I liked Nim's Island too, lovely film.
Have you seen Whale Rider or Rabbit Proof Fence.
Intersellar, fantastic!
Tuesdays with Morrie, you'll need huge box of tissues though.

It's a really good Will Ferrell/Emma Thompson film about a guy who wakes up to find his life being narrated (in his head) by an author...
