Anyone else looking forward to it?

I absolutely adore Guillermo del Toro and his films, the fact that he's described Crimson Peak as "the most beautiful film I have ever made" has got me ridiculously excited.

That and the fact that Doug Jones and Javier Botet are both on the cast list without character names...... Grin

I love a good gothic drama, this does look visually stunning too. Don't often spend cinema money and usually prefer to see films at home because noisy people bug me etc....but might go to this one rather than wait!

Good looking guy, haven't seen him act though. I like that Mia, she was fab as Alice.

PersonalClown got there before me.

I'm there with bells on.

I adore a gothic drama too! Can't wait!

I've been looking forward to this for months. Tom Hiddleston makes me a bit weak at the knees.

torthecatlady · 12/10/2015 15:55

Absolutely cannot wait! H2b and I are going to see it on Sunday and I am thoroughly looking forward to it! I fancy watching Pan's Labyrinth just to get me in the mood! x

It looks terrifying and I'm an absolute baby when it comes to horror movies, but I love his other work so i may have to go see it anyway. I highly recommend the Orphanage to anyone who hasn't seen it - just loved loved loved it, especially the brilliant ending, even though it still gives me nightmares.

onlyoranges · 12/10/2015 16:06

Isn't the orphanage really scary or am I just a wimp?

OnlyLovers · 12/10/2015 16:08

I think it's scary, oranges, but in a good way.

VimFuego101 · 12/10/2015 17:28

It is terrifying. You won't sleep for weeks. But it's a really good film.

Nataleejah · 18/10/2015 12:37

Orphanage is good. But it is a rip-off french Saint Ange
My personal favorite of del Toro's horror films is The Devil's Backbone. Not as scary, but a very good story to it.

GladysTheGolem · 18/10/2015 12:40

We saw it on Friday morning. It was amazing, as beautiful and haunting as I thought it would be.
I've never 'got' Tom Hiddleston, I do now, he's captivating in this, wonderful cast all round.

I went to see it last night and was completely underwhelmed. Fabulous design but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The story was weak and predictable, the characters shallow, the dialogue often stilted and awkward (plus very obvious in several scenes that the recorded dialogue was not what was being said by actor at the time of filming) and some of the accents were dreadful.

Most disappointing was the lack of the supposed gender role reversal which was much touted in promotional interviews with del Toro prior. Both Edith and Lucille felt like fairly stock female characters. Jessica Chastain was fabulous as Lucille but I would have loved to have seen her get her teeth into a character with a bit more substance.

It's not remotely on the same level as Pan's Labyrinth or The Devil's Backbone.

I'm a right scaredy cat but for some strange reason, even though I don't do horror, I want to see this.

I've got about 3 hours to p,Icke up the courage.......
