An old one, but The Clangers is actually reasonable - Tiny Clanger is as likely as Small Clanger to be the main protagonist, and I like the iron chicken.

Meant to add - it take the piss out of the macho'ness of all men together in the army. Challenges the idea that a woman cant be just as brave as a man. (years before 'Brave' came out).
