DS1 is driving me bonkers - usual takes a few days to adapt to "holiday mode routine" I think. Anyway I was thinking about the cinema - at least he should shut up for a couple of hours!

But ds2 says he doesn't want to see it

I want to see this , trailers look likethe storyhas changed quite a bit though

It's hysterical - all very tongue in cheek: I was laughing out loud all the way through, and ds1 kept asking why I was laughing!

Not quite what I was expecting from the book, but great fun anyway.

I'm glad ds2 (7) refused to go though as he would have found it far too scary!

It's a PG Cat. Though IMO "top end" of PG iyswim. I think most 8yos would be fine with it.

What has he seen and been OK/not been OK with cat64?

DS2 (wouldn't have been OK with Stormbreaker) was traumatised by Nemo, and scared by Mask of Zorro (or whatever it's called) and Zathura, and sobbed all the way through Madagascar! He hasn't seen anything like Harry Potter (at cinema) or Star Wars or Spiderman or anything.

DS1 (9) has seen most of the above and been fine. Stormbreaker was right up his street.

Ds1 is going whether he wants to or not (well, actually he does - he's read the book) - it's got the lovely Ewan in it!

RTKangaMummy · 23/07/2006 21:56

We went today

DS is 11 years and loves all the books

It wasn't gory really at all, a bit like a james bond film

One bit does make you jump but that is all

DS loved it but some bits are different to the book -- or his imagination from the book

There was a very little boy behind us aged about 3 years and he seemed ok

RTKangaMummy · 23/07/2006 21:56

It is PG
