Curse of the Were-Rabbit: has anyone seen it? What do you think?

I'm with Peter Bradshaw in the Guardian on this one - I think it's truly one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Absolutely superb.

But.... we took our 5.7 year old to see it last Sunday - a die-hard Wallace and Gromit fan, has seen all the short movies and Chicken Run too - and it gave him nightmares! I was very surprised but it is a bit scary in places.

What do others think?

We saw it this morning. Absolutely fantastic. As mentioned before there were lots of jokes thrown in for the adults. Every so often you would hear adults LOL around the cinema while children looked at them as if they were mad.
I took my two dds 6 and 3 and my friends two kids 7 and 6 and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. No mention of the film being too scary from any of them.
Fantastic film - and very cleverly done. Must have taken ages to make. Well worth watching.

DH took DS last week and up until this thread I had no idea it was supposed to be scary! DS is easily scared and I just asked him if he thought it was scary ... He looked at me like I was mad and then hooted with laughter saying, "It is just silly, mummy and they aren't real you know, they are just made of play dough!" And then went on to tell me all about the giant rabbit.
He is 6 next month.

I did think it was a bit slow to begin with & I was started to fidget more than a 2 yr old! However, it was the early Sunday morning showing & I'd had a restless night so I didn't perk up until the story really got underway.

I laughed out loud when "Totty" was standing behind 2 large melons......!

My ds s nearly 9 so I didn't have to worry about him being frightened but I know for a fact that if he'd been 2-3, he'd have been upset during the transformation scene.

DS, 4 and a bit and not normally of a nervous disposition, found it very scary and had to cower on our laps. We had to explain some bits of the plot, too. He also had a nightmare last night which may have been related.

But it had some very funny moments of pastiche, and some great visual gags and puns, and DS said he had enjoyed it. Mostly he liked the contraptions and W&G in their domestic setting, and he said 'A Nice Day Out' was still his fabourite.
