I just can't thik of anything!

DH is a massive film buff, but the stuff he watches are all horror and violence.

I've joined Lovefilm so I can watch films I like in bed whilst he watches scary stuff.

I don't like supper sappy films, but can tolerate a bit of sap!

Go on to amazon, find the dvd of one of your faves, then looks at the 'like this, you might like these' list, and also see what other people bought that bought that (if that makes sense!!)

500 days of summer is good - very cooool! Lovefilm is good for boxsets as well, and films you haven't seen for years.

The Orphanage. Though you will need a sofa to hide behind.

We watched Sherlock Holmes the other day and that was good.

Not sappy at all.

I enjoyed the Infidel - British comedy written by David Baddiel concerning a muslim who finds his son is betrothed to the step daughter of a major Al-Quaeda figure (much to his horror) and then subsequently discovers that he was adopted, having been born Jewish.

The Boat That Rocked - another clever British comedy

Agree with TO that the Hangover was side splittingly good

Quite suprised with just how engaging and interesting Creation was (biography of Charles Darwin, moving, sad, uplifting - lots of emotions stirred up)

I hear great things about Shutter Island (which is on my list) - its' been rated 4 stars by lovefilm members which is usually a good guide

Just realised TO that you are also the OP!

If you have never seen House Bunny - you surely must. It was hilarious

I've recently seen Away We Go, Precious, The Blind Side and Cemetary Junction. I especially liked Away We Go.
