Daughter just started studying health and social care at 6th form and she's come home today rather annoyed.
Apparently they were watching a documentary about childbirth and her teacher tells them "just a warning, you will see a woman breastfeeding"...DD didn't feel like she could say anything at the time (as she's just started and doesn't want to make bad impressions) but she quietly seethed at it being called out like that, and that students studying health and social care should need a 'warning' for such a thing.
I've told her to use it as an opportunity to talk about the importance of normalising breastfeeding in her assignments, but its left her feeling a bit uncomfortable (especially as she wants to be a midwife).
I'm trying to rationalise the reason for drawing attention to it myself but coming up short in all honesty...
