Just going to preface this by saying this is not a thread about Kim and her family and whether you like her or not, but I’m interested to see some perspectives on this particular collaboration.
I’ve come across a post on LinkedIn (screenshot may take a while to upload) that talks to Nike moving away from their core values of performance and celebrating exceptional athletes, to ‘sexy’.
Is it general consensus that in order to be athletic, you can’t be or feel ‘sexy’?
Skims have a range of very well made, comfortable garments catering to different skin tones and body types from very petite, to very large and everything in between. No doubt it’s inclusive, and together with Nike it’ll be a good product. Guess the question surrounding this is about supposedly promoting a ‘toxic’ beauty standard.
Everyone has their idea of what ‘sexy’ means to them, and there are millions of products out there already that cater to ‘performance’ as it is, so why is it so unacceptable for women to have a choice in opting in for what makes them feel ‘sexy’?
