I slept with 100 men

Me and my 20yo DD watched the documentary about the Only Fans Lilly Phillips. I struggled to see why a 23 year old educated young lady would choose to expose herself to such risky situations. When she said her family are supportive I thought she can't have told them the whole truth I believe they know she is on Only Fans but maybe she's downplayed it. I couldn't help but feel very sad for her I feel like she's quite vulnerable to the attention and going to extreme lengths to be noticed. It's a world far from mine so maybe I just don't understand it, is this the future of our young generation? Me and DD had a discussion after watching it and she shed some light which made me think my views are a little outdated. I said something about how society views men and women differently when it comes to sex. She said yes that is the problem, the view of boys will be boys needs to stop it's that mindset that warrants such behaviour. I agree with her I grew up understanding that boys/men are more likely to sleep around more and it was celebrated even encouraged.

I think it’s a really complicated situation being totally honest and I don’t know what the answer or reason is. I’m in my 20’s, I have 2 friends who did Only Fans for awhile and made a lot of money doing it but it was nothing at all like what Lily/Bonnie are doing now, it’s escalated to beyond what it ever was there really.

I do think there’s a big difference between men sleeping around & then what is going on here with 100 men (and her next one is 1000 men in 24 hours) though. At least in my own social circle and in my own experience there isn’t really any of the “men sleeping around = legend but women sleeping around = whore”, women and men can both enjoy sex whether that’s casually or within a relationship, I know one of Lily’s things is that she “loves sex” but I do question honestly how enjoyable sex is for either party in this situation, 2 minutes each person, standing in the corridor for hours for those men getting themselves “ready”, this isn’t an “I love sex” situation as much as it’s an “I love money/fame” situation but it does come at a cost.

She's a sex worker and she's making millions from her Only fans account.

Her mum does her accounts and as far as I'm aware, supports her. Bonnie Blue another Only fans sex worker who also does similar things, is supported by her parents who advertise her services.

I think the furore surrounding her is down to class. I'm wondering if people would be so concerned if she was working class.

There have been arguments that she's being exploited and lacks capacity but she has a very nice lifestyle and is planning to sleep with 1,000 men next.

Everyone is talking about her which is drumming up custom and making her more money. I've seen over the years how sleaze has become mainstream and more acceptable.

To me it's capitalism on steroids and grubby men are rubbing their knees and encouraging women's 'empowerment'.

Its so sad . It made me think about the Louis Theroux documentary where he went back to re interview people in the porn industry - none were happy / well adjusted people and some had sadly died from suicide. I think they are selling their souls for money.

Interesting article about Martin Amis and porn.
https://europeanconservative.com/articles/tribute/martin-amis-1949-2023/

Amis lived long enough to see that the sexual revolution only benefited a few—handsome, talented, wealthy men like himself. The vulnerable, like his sister Sally, paid the price. And when the capitalist carpetbaggers of the revolution hijacked the minds of a generation with pornography, he correctly predicted that even sexual taste would be shaped by market forces.

Martin Amis (1949-2023)

FROM THE SUMMER 2023 PRINT EDITION: Martin Amis got the collective cultural impact of pornography right while most were still defending it. “Porno, it seems ...

Amis also said in an article for Rolling Stone on porn industry in California, that it was gladitorial; women were forced into more extreme and degrading sexual acts for money. Pleasure, joy and fulfillment have nothing to do with it.

'Educated young lady' shows that you think maybe another type of woman would be up for risky/promiscuous sex. Fact is that lots of women are! And not just people on OnlyFans. Being 'educated' has nothing to do with it really.

I think there is an element of “stunt” to it. I do believe she has slept with a lot of men as part of her OF career but I do feel like some of the things put out there recently have had a whiff of fake about them.

All that being said, I feel sorry for her. Whether it is completely true or not, she will be known for this for the rest of her life. What passes when you are young and beautiful will fade very quickly the older you get.

I am all for women making their own sexual choices and not judging how somebody wishes to live their life, but what this lady is doing comes at a cost to herself and the documentary (the small amount I've seen of it) shows this very clearly.

I judge the men too who engage in this. I would be just as disappointed in my son as I would be my daughter.

I understood that the point about her being educated and middle class was that she appeared to have so many more options for money and a "nice life" than she might if she were not those things.

Prostitution should not be legal or mainstream.... sad sign of the grubby times.

I remember listening to some of Jon Ronson's Butterfly Effect about the industry. And how it just chewed through performers and spat them out at the other end. Novelty being a part of it, and a lot of powerless, young people hoping that they would be the one to make it big, and being exploited on the back of it. Depressing.
