'Hot' delivery driver

Anyone else confused by the plaudits given to this business owner. He responded to customer feedback about the 'hot' delivery girl, by stating they would send a male delivery driver next time. I'm not knocking a small business and clearly he and many others think he's done the right thing but the approach is one of appeasement - keep the customer no matter what, albeit giving them a ticking off and get some very nice PR out of it.

It tells us women can't be delivery drivers, at least if we are, some customers are best left to the men, so best just employ men in the first place. Like the old days when women in the workplace were considered a distraction. Only now the same attitude is lauded. This driver is withdrawn form certain parts of her job to 'protect' her. God forbid the business owner refusing custom from an arsehole or that all men be held to the standard of decent humans.

Yeah, he should refuse orders from this address in future, rather than sending a male rider.

Refreshing that he’s called it out though?

Really great of the owner to now only send male delivery drivers there and called out that the review was inappropriate

So assuming drivers get paid per delivery, she loses out? On account of her being hot, there are some deliveries she can't do? Is restricting women how we deal with inappropriate behaviour? It seems to me she's the only one losing out here.

If I'm being kind, the owner is trying to do the right thing, misguided perhaps. If I'm being cynical, he milked this for publicity and exposed his employee to some potentially unpleasant consequences as she tries to go about her job in the future. I wonder if she was consulted in any of this.
