"In the week that we learned the Women’s Institute (WI) has removed ‘sex’ from its published list of protected characteristics, WRN supports the campaign to report all “non-contact” sexual offences such as indecent exposure, and our Surrey group reports success with its local police. A member interviews female business owners in Afghanistan, and Ironman UK fails Fairness for Females."
Interesting point made about indecent exposure being a crime in public but argued as acceptable and urged upon women and girls - from school to gyms to nurses' changing rooms. And never mind the Equality Act 2010 provision for exceptions.
Gobsmacking that Surrey Police adopted a policy which stated that the Equality Act 2010 is out of date The almost comically inept explanation highlights how poor the policy-making and what happens when it's left to a designated activist:
' In a response to an FOI request, Surrey Police laid the blame for the misleading information on a “former EDI manager” who “regularly participated in various national EDI consultation groups... where they gained valuable insights and knowledge on best practices, which were then shared and implemented within our force. It is likely that the suggestion of any language as being ‘outdated’ may have been discussed in these forums and shared internally.” '
