Looking for a feminist book for 8yo DD about periods & sex

I'm not sure if this is quite the right topic to post in, but I guess it is as I don't want to inadvertently choose a book with subtle (or otherwise) references to gender woo and the like, and trying to filter that out via Amazon reviews is driving me nuts! So I thought I'd ask here as I know I'll get good suggestions

DD is 8 and in year 4, she's just started to express an interest in understanding how babies are made and what happens to your body as you get older. We live on a farm and she's seen animals mating and has a vague idea, and her dad and I are comfortable with being seen naked after showering so she understands that bodies change as you grow up. Although I've never hidden my period from her I don't think it's on her radar as I'm fortunate to get short, easy periods.

I'm mindful that I'd rather the information came from us so that she is pre-informed and confident in the facts rather than some half-baked muddle she picks up from her peers.

I've looked at Milli Hill's 'My Period' but I wonder if that might be a bit grown up for her yet as she's quite a 'young' 8yr old. And I don't know if it covers sex and pregnancy etc anyway. But I am happy to be corrected by those that have read the book.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA 🙂

DD had this one and thought it was good. https://www.waterstones.com/book/the-smart-girls-guide-to-growing-up/anita-ganeri/katie-mac/9781407116044

When I was a young teen in the early 2000s, I remember reading a really good book that I think was called "Everything you ever wanted to ask about periods".

I just had a look and it's still available on amazon (it came out in 2001). I was thinking I might get it for my daughter as I remember it being good/ informative. But I am going back about 20 years...

I think Milli Hill has one out.

Mill Hill's book is my daughters favourite: My Period: Find your flow and feel proud of your period! https://amzn.eu/d/09fSxg2

Thank you for the suggestions so far, I shall look into those. Do you think the Milli Hill is also age appropriate for her then?

I got this one for my DD aged 8 which I highly recommend. It covers puberty, periods and the basics of sex in an age appropriate way. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Girls-Guide-Growing-Up/dp/1526360187
