I saw this story with interest.

Georgia Bilham: Woman who posed as man convicted of assault over kiss www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-65907380

She changed her name to a male one, dressed as a man and had a relationship. Convicted of assault.

What is posing as a man / woman? How is it different from identifying as a man / woman? Aren't we supposed to believe people when they say who they are?!
Interested legal fine lines I'd think (not a lawyer).

In this case it is different because the perpetrator does not identify as a transman. They have said they are not a man, have never felt like a man and are not transgender at all. She said she had never wanted to change her gender, but had questioned her sexuality, telling the jury her mother would "not be happy" if she was in a same-sex relationship.

Obviously her near blind victim believed Georgina when she said she was a man called George, dressed like a man and apparently had what felt like a fake penis in her knickers.

She never changed her name. She created a fake SM account with the name George.

Oh I see. I thought she changed her name from the report. At least socially.

“The court heard Bilham created "George" on Snapchat, claiming he always had to wear a hood over his head while with the 19-year-old, even in bed, because of paranoia about his involvement with Albanian gangsters.”

She was only “George” on Snapchat.

Well, no. She was clearly presenting as George when with the victim. She was known as George by several people who had only met her as George.

I think it's classed as 'sex by deception'. There have been a few similar cases.

Silly person, she should have identified as Gender fluid , then she would have been stunning and brave ( and not in jail). And you Don’t have to be consistent, there is a person I think is a lawyer who identifies as a woman some days and man on others ( the latter being pay days, I guess) . Which is totally fine.

What's the difference? Same result isn't it?
Woman pretending to be a man.

why not just for the sake say you identified as a man every time you were with the other girl, case solved, not guilty, bye bye
