Chris Brown grabs fan by the throat on stage
ThePoshUns · 17/03/2023 05:22
Apologies for DM link.
This is so disturbing.
A man with a history of DV, sitting a fan on stage, grabbing her around the neck then thrusting in her face.
She may be a Love Island'star' but she doesn't look comfortable with it.
Why do women pay to go and watch him?

Saw a headline clip, it looked hideous.
No real idea who he is to be honest, and felt very sorry for the woman, whoever she is too
ThePoshUns · 17/03/2023 06:22
I have to say all I know about him is he was Rhianna's boyfriend at one point and I think he assaulted her. Can't say I know any of his music.
He appears to be normalising violence against women. And women go and watch him?
GrammarTeacher · 17/03/2023 06:24
He shouldn't be working anymore in the music business. His assault on Rhianna was brutal.
GoodChat · 17/03/2023 06:24
The fucking article said it looks like she enjoyed it. She clearly didn't. She's clearly uncomfortable. Piece of shit rag telling men this is ok because we'll like it even though she was trying to remove his hand and change position to stop it!
BlueSpark · 17/03/2023 06:32
There is another video where he has a fan on stage and she pulls her phone out to video the once in a life time experience. He tells her to put it away and after she doesn't, he throws it into the crowd. She is also not happy and it looks like a new expensive iPhone.
He's a shit who throws a tantrum when he doesn't get his own way. I believe he also had another gf at the time of Rihanna or after (karreuche tran maybe) and he treated them like shit.
I don't believe in cancel culture but whenever I see him I'm amazed he is able to perform and people still like him but then I see comments on mason greenwood articles that talk about "his little mistake" or "that tramp who got pregnant/tried to take all his money" and I remember the world is full of misogynistic arseholes

To be fair she did post on social media along the lines of how great/what an honour it was🙄So they could argue they were following her lead. But I agree, the body language and fake smile looked different.
Also URRGGHH that its automatically considered an exciting experience to have someone grab your throat and dry hump you now.

He shouldn't be allowed to enter the country
This. That man should not be allowed to enter the UK. As for the clip, it's utterly degrading and violent with no consent. You can tell from the woman's expression she's not happy and she tries to remove his hand from her throat. Sadly she seems to be of a mentality that fame is the goal and she'll go along with this in order to achieve it. Although having said that I'm absolutely not blaming her, she was in a difficult position publicly and it's very hard to speak up in the situation or even process fast enough to react accordingly. I hope she's ok and I hope he's prevented from acting out this hideous performance at future gigs. Utterly disgusting man.

The whole "fight, freeze, flight" thing needs "appease" added to it. That's clearly the instinct this woman has, she's in a vulnerable position physically and with respect to her future career. She is in the weaker position here and she's doing what she thinks is necessary to manage the situation without it ending badly for her. Plenty of women are socialised to react that way, or find it to be their instinctive response.
I cannot believe that people still deal with Chris Brown given his history of violence. Or that people still minimise what he did. I mean, I should be used to such ingrained misogyny by now, but it always shocks me every time.
newjobnewstartihope · 17/03/2023 19:11
Urghh the amount of desperate women on Facebook saying they wish it was them 🤦♀️

Can't remember where I saw it but I once saw "Fight, flight, freeze, fawn" which is probably the same as what you are describing.

He's a monster hiding in plain sight.
What he did to Rihanna was horrendous.

It was . He should not even have a career anymore after that. We are going backwards in what we as women will accept.

I am horrified with this sentence
''She may be a love island star but she doesn't look comfortable with it'
ThePoshUns · 17/03/2023 21:23
It was clumsy.
What I'm trying to say is she may be someone who is trying to promote herself via social media, she may have been a stooge in this. However she did not look comfortable. If she had put herself in that position the photo looked like she was uncomfortable
BlueSpark · 18/03/2023 07:27
I think this is a perfect example of females in society.
She doesn't like it or at least isn't hugely comfortable with it but in front of everyone she has to go along with it knowing that actually, she will be the one seen as wrong if she does not act willing. We all want to scream stop but we go along with it because we know it's expected. Someone better with words could expand on that and make it more understandable.
She handled it all really well but I wish she didn't have to and pass these expectations to our daughters.
All this choking is fun online is a joke too. If you're into it then fine but it's another example of trying to be cool and overtly sexual to gain a man. I'm cooler than you because I want to be choked and lick arseholes. You should too. We don't need need it. My anxiety and anger at society chokes me enough without a man's hands to my throat.
anonacfr · 18/03/2023 11:16
I just don't understand how throat grabbing/squeezing has become mainstream and if you don't like it you're 'vanilla'.
I get that it's porn normalisation but it is so depressing.
What happened to sex being intimate and silly and clumsy and just fun?
Greenfairydust · 20/03/2023 08:14
I don't understand why this man still has a career in the first place.
The fact that people still want to see him perform and buy is music is disturbing...

newjobnewstartihope · 17/03/2023 19:54
Awful
They wouldn't be saying that if it was them we all love a throat grab and if you say you don't your lying
I feel sorry for these (probably young) women. They've clearly never had normal sex. It makes me fear for my daughter.
Minirrriot · 21/03/2023 18:42
I've never got the whole don't kink shame thing, we are normalising abuse and saying that people with power issues, whether that's wanting to be dominated or dominate aren't working out deeper held issues. Well I think they are, particularly when it goes to the extremes of choking - what on earth do people think that implies?
It's not normal sex, not even raunchy sex, it's violence, violence, violence and I hate that women are being conditioned to expect and accept this.
