Period pants - any company not pushing gender ideology?

AllTrussdUp · 15/02/2023 12:52

I've just started using period pants (Modibodi) and love them for comfort and lack of leaks etc. But I am fed up with them pushing their gender ideology in all their marketing ("periods are noting to do with your gender!" no shit, they're to do with my biological sex etc etc...) - I know there is another thread about that particular campaign.

Anyway - are there any period pant companies (online) that produce a great product, don't cost the earth and don't push gender ideology down my throat?

I've bought the Innersy ones from amazon. A couple of different sets, and prefer the ones with the coloured waistbands for how they sit on my tummy. About £20 for 3 pairs, so not too extortionate in price either.

I find them more comfy than Modibody as the pad doesn't have a cut off line across my bum.

These are the ones I have:

smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09L71R14K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07V5V137N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All the pics on Amazon are of women wearing their product and the only men on their website appear to be only wearing the men's underwear that they manufacture.

Love Luna seem to be OK. They use the word women on their site and the products have good reviews. I’m considering buying some period pants too and also wanted to avoid places with ridiculous language.

Whatwouldscullydo · 17/02/2023 20:20

Wuka have sadly gone that way.

Sisters Republic maybe ?

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 17/02/2023 20:52

www.luxurymoon.co.uk Luxury moon is run by a gender critical woman. I’m not sure about the products as she has a huge range from various companies but you could email and ask. I’ve got the Hey Girls cherry red period pants and they’re so comfortable but expensive compared to Amazon. www.luxurymoon.co.uk/product/hey-girls-super-soft-cherry-cotton-period-pants/

Cheeky wipes?

Karwomannghia · 17/02/2023 20:56

How are they pushing gender ideology? Haven’t seen what you’re talking about but admittedly haven’t looked too hard. But what’s wrong with them marketing to transmen and transboys who may need the product too?

Bekindbekind · 17/02/2023 20:57

I got some from Primark just to try and they were great, so I’ve bought plenty more since then.

PolkaDotMankini · 17/02/2023 20:58

Babipur. I buy quite a bit from them and it's always high quality.

What's wrong is trans ideology is a deeply misogynistic and homophonic ideology which is potentially very damaging to children.

MissDollyMix · 17/02/2023 21:06

I’ve bought them from Primark before. Very good they were too! And cheap

Great. Been looking to buy some of these for ages. So glad to buy from a pro woman company

drspouse · 17/02/2023 21:12

I got mine from Etsy.

Cheeky wipes…I buy for my teen girls, they are marketed to girls starting their periods as well as other ages and perhaps this is why I’ve never noticed anything gender wise…also cheap in comparison to other products.

I'm pretty sure they have been known to use the word " menstruators"

Unfortunately I think the best bet is as above. The brands themselves are all gender captured the only way to purchase them is indirectly through websites that aren't such as luxury moon.

I just wanted to say thank you for the recommendation. I read this post yesterday, ordered on Prime and am wearing mine now. You are right they are so much more comfortable than Modibodi, who I am now boycotting.

ginnybag · 02/03/2023 12:02

Careful with the Innersy ones. They're great in their place and very comfy, but they're not the match for a full 'period' pant. On light days, they're fine, but they're not up a decent flow without something else as well. Great as a back-up to a moon cup, or round ovulation, or just day to day though.

Badbudgeter · 02/03/2023 12:12

Hey girls. Not cheap at £20 a pair but they are very soft, absorbent and long lasting. They are a social enterprise and donate a product for each one you buy. Very focused on removing period poverty for women and girls.

That’s not right. They definitely say “daughters” and the photos are all of women.

Friend recently recommended these. Small Irish company.

Ofcourseshecan · 29/04/2023 23:54

Marks & Spencer period pants, a pack of three medium-absorbency for £14 or three heavy absorbency £20. I've never seen gender-woo in any M&S advertising. You can buy online and collect from a branch near you, so you don't have to pay postage.

HermioneWeasley · 30/04/2023 21:25

@Ofcourseshecan they might not have it in their advertising but let any bloke who wants to, use the women’s changing rooms and allow men to leave reviews of women’s underwear on their website! No thanks.

diningiswest · 30/04/2023 22:03

Uniqlo ones are pretty good. And just sold as period pants.

I agree Hermione, that's disgusting. But I don't really know if any shops are serious about keeping men out of women's changing rooms. I have written to M&S about this, but got the standard fob-off response. As a result I'm much less likely to try on clothes, which means I don't buy them, which is good for my budget but bad for the high street.

I've had to take the gender language issue separately, and support those companies who don't erase women in their advertising.

BabyStopCryin · 25/05/2023 10:04

UNIQLO? I have some of theirs (very good). Don’t know about their politics (got them via MN as a tester).
