Tommy Robinson did not attend and the only people who were specifically invited were a number of feminists, including Jane Clare Jones (JCJ) and Julie Bindel. Apparently, none of them replied to the invitations and none attended.
After the event, Julie Bindel initially endorsed and retweeted a link to an article that slammed the Brighton Standing For Women/Let Women Speak Event, saying she agreed with every word. She has since deleted her tweet, presumably distancing herself after discovering that the article misrepresented the event. The article also failed to mention the violence faced by the women who attended and completely ignored all the speakers apart from one who was "problematic (although all she talked about was "genderish" language and women's football).
JCJ and all the other detractors gave an enormous amount of free publicity to right-wing organisations and individuals who most people had never heard of before. So, several stunning own goals from a bunch of socialist feminists purporting to be hugely concerned about the influence of the right wing on GC women's rights activism.
JCJ rambles on so much that I gave up reading her twitter threads long ago - life is too short - but she was just one of several women who seemed to be competing for who could most misrepresent events recent and past involving Kellie-Jay Keen.
I really enjoy listening to KJK's Phone-In show on Tuesdays and yesterday's is worth listening to for caller's comments on Brighton as well as her own:
