Local Flasher - what to do?!

Locally there is a male flasher, has been at it, same location on-off for 5+ years. Reported to the police every time. Women having to vary there dog walking /running routes and it just goes on. The police do nothing. Half the local community think it's hilarious we have an active sec offender on our doorsteps.

So what can I do to get the police to actually do something?

It's horrible, since 31st of July there have been two rapes, one indecent exposure and one sexual assault in our nearest city, all in close proximity to the same place. We've got extra police patrols and plain clothed officers in the area and just a £500,000 safer street grant. It's by a big kids playing field and bridge Sad

On the same day every week, at the same time and exact location? Because if not then you are being unreasonable to expect that the police have enough resources to be able to lie in wait in an authorised surveillance operation 24/7 ready for this man to offend again.

to be fair it is very difficult to imagine exactly what the police might do though. What i see on this site and elsewhere is the police not turning out for burglaries, domestic violence etc. But they do turn out for feminist stickers. It's a real conundrum.

What i would expect after 5+ years in the same place is vastly increased random police presence.

Or "more and yet more" surveillance cameras.

I would organise a local paint balling team to hang around and practice their target shooting. Either that or try and get locals to share descriptions of suspicious looking individuals and send police photos.

We've had a similar situation on our road only not quite the same and the police were next to useless but claim their hands are tied.

A youngish lad would undress in front of his window whenever he saw that a woman/women was walking past. Always made a point of never looking at the recipient so as to make it look accidental and was never 'hard' so it didn't look sexual. This made it very difficult for the police to argue that it was anything other than him simply getting changed in his own house and the best they could do was advise him on closing the blinds.

The fact he was actually very good looking didn't help matters because a lot of the women on our street seemed to actually quite like the view so the number of complaints was limited!!

This, in public, should be a very different story, though, and I'm shocked nothing has been done about it.

Our county are having a vigil tomorrow night at the location of these attacks. I bet the horrible fuckers will be there.

Try your PCC? Whilst as a PP said there are difficulties with investigating these offences, lack of CCTV, lines of enquiry to identify them etc I think we often underestimate the risk these people pose and it’s seen as sad or funny. It’s a type of behaviour that can escalate to contact offending. It’s also bloody terrifying for the poor victims subject to it.
