I found this interesting and potentially welcome.

A lot of the delays lie with the CPS and early pre-charge decision stage.
If they can iron these out, it will certainly help.

Hardly any cases are making it anywhere near court in the first place.

Are rape cases having longer waits to get to court than other crimes, once it's decided to prosecute... If so why is that? If not, I hate to say it but with press society etc how they are it would probably be counter productive.

I think this sounds good but isn't actually going to change much.

What happened to all the recommendations from report after report? If even the opposition aren't pushing the meatier ones then that's a sign they're not really interested either.

I hope he gets in eventually and makes this change. Until then, we are stuck with the Tories - who will continue doing sweet FA… 😥

I think once the decision has come back to prosecute, the wait for a trial is the same as other cases, perhaps this should be fast tracked - but you would have to consider fast tracking other things such as murders, offences against children etc etc

I'm not sure what recommendations were suggested in the previous reports, but I think the initial part of the investigation is pretty good in general and is 'victim focused'. Investigation delays can occur depending on what they may be (forensic submission, phone work etc) - but its often CPS which presents the biggest delays for most cases.
