This is horrifying. There's also been sexual abuse and prostitution committed on these poor girls. Sickening.

I think there are many facets of the current situation in Nigeria that are simply not being reported at all. Or rather are only on pages such as the one you link - the information is there, it's just not getting any attention.

Binglebong · 17/06/2022 14:33

I can see lots of stories but not that one.

Binglebong · 18/06/2022 16:35

Horrific.

Hagiography · 20/06/2022 15:51

My god.

TullyApplebottom · 20/06/2022 15:57

the main thing I think - putting aside the utter horror of this for one moment - is that it really is time for the uk government to criminalise going overseas for surrogacy. There are appalling abuses taking place in countries where surrogacy is not regulated properly and we should not permit British citizens to contribute to this dubious business.

Hagiography · 20/06/2022 15:58

Abso bloody lutely, Tully.

Binglebong · 20/06/2022 16:24

If you create a market then you create people who will exploit others to satisfy that market. Surrogacy and adoption from overseas (unless exceptional circumstances like the death of a family member) needs to be stopped.

TullyApplebottom · 20/06/2022 16:27

Yep, agreed. Altruistic, uk surrogacy and adoption only. And pressure other wealthy nations to do same.
if you’re not allowed to buy a baby here why should you be let do it elsewhere?
