"particularly heinous" / sex offences in other countries

I've been watching CSI Special Victims Unit and every episode starts with "in the criminal justice system sexually based offences are considered especially heinous" which of course doesn't reflect how sex crimes are responded to here. I often find myself wondering do they really respond better in the US? Seems unlikely. But i wonder if there are countries with significantly better prosecutions rates? Or lower sexual assault rates.
I might try to do a bit of reading but thought it might be interesting if anyone knows more?

The criminal justice system in America is fucked. Police are allowed to lie to suspects, they hide evidence, they fabricate evidence, their awareness of forensic issues is absolutely appalling. I’d be very surprised if they dealt with sexual offences with any success.

SVU Law and Order you mean? I trust there are law enforcement individuals who think these crimes are heinous but how well they are investigated depends on the unit and the detective- also, US has a rape kit backlog.www.endthebacklog.org/

In 12 states there is no minimum age for marriage. So kids aged 12/14 ( or potentially even younger) can get married with parental consent. Statistically for girls the partner is likely to be an adult.

I watched the documentary on netflicks about audrie and daisy. It's about high school rape victims. Hopefully not representative of the majority of the justice system but absolutely shocking and disgusting treatment of the victims. Girls are 100% second class citizens.
